Great thanks all and again apologies these accursed delays in acknowledgment, hold these infos till I can copy please?
UPDATE:
1. Now in contact with a direct 'Living' and Info/Tree flowing!
2. Regimental-Archives preparing Documentatio/records for me!
3. Delight in coincidence that my own Father was engaged in several Actions as Edwin at same time, possibly no more than mile apart. This giving Self and Wife a common source of pride!
4. This particular 'Brick-Wall' existed for many years and its tumbling has put many a full stop in place......Well done GRs! :-)

Thanks for the understanding, getting too old and over excited when I get a snippet or two, either that or should have gone to a well known Spectacles Firm!
Edwin is given as Commercial Traveller here.
your GRO correct as said and ADA confirmed too. I've hunted Ethel too long methinks and fallen into trap of believing all I read as gospel. so, special thanks for the rescue job, appreciated!

Hi Wozcay

No need for regrets----Why do you think you have wasted anyones time ?

You say Edwin married Ethel Watson but all info points to him marrying ADA Watson

As the marriage index on my posting above and

from FreeBMD
Marriages Dec 1913
Steel Edwin Watson Thirsk 9d 941
Watson Ada Steel Thirsk 9d 941
----------------------------------------------------------------

Is this Ethel's birth index ??

Births Sep 1914

Steel Ethel ----mmn Watson --- S.Shields 10a 1749
--------------------------------------------------------------------

Did it give Edwin's occupation on his daughters marriage cert ? (it does somtimes even when they are deceased)

On 1911 census there are quite a few "Watson's " in the Pickering, area

As I said these are only " Suggested Records"

You do need his marriage cert to Ada if you know for certain this is the Edwin Steel for your research.

So the daughter marries in 1933 and the address then was Railway Lane ??

The property may not have been built till after 1911.
