thanks beverley , i will have to look in to that , although i think the birth may be too early, her husband kyle .was born in 1761 so i thought she would have been around the same age.
thanks again

Do you have a copy of the marriage document?

Maybe there are family members who are witnesses which will help link Sarah to a family.

Could she be a later child of the same family ie.father Jonathan.
Often siblings were names after an earlier lost child.

in my notes origionally i did have hannah as josephs wife, for some reason i have crossed it out and put sarah instead, i am so confused. i do know that a joseph kyle had a child named joseph kyle with a sarah wedgwood in 1788 in maryport cumberland, i think this is where my confusion origionates, the marriage dates make sense as there was another child sarah kyle born 1784 in maryport cumberland,

hi back again,
i know for definate joseph kyle married hannah wedgewood on 3rd june 1782 in cross canonby cumberland.
josephs first child sarah born 1784 in maryport i am assuming is to hannh as its shortly after wedding as there is no mention of mother.
josephs next child joseph has his mother as sarah wedgwood, there is also gibson kyle 1789 maryport and rebecca kyle1791 maryport who i assume are joseph and sarahs children, as there is also no mention of mother. am i wrong in asuming hannah has died in or after childbirth because cant find a death between 1782 and 1784. cant find marriage of joseph kyle and sarah wedgwood. i know with gibson and rebecca i am on the right track as these name come up in earlier generations.
i dont seem to be able to get past this point can any one help me please
many thanks

Depending how much time you wish to pursue in the search for the parents of Sarah/Hannah Wedgwood I wouldn't normally advocate jumping several generation and working forward but because I have an interest in the Wedgwood( but more from the John Wedgwood who settled in Yearsley ) it might be worth following the family of Aaron Wedgwood who was baptised Bridekirk cumberland 21 Jan 1705
Aaron Wedgwood married Anne Arndale 6 Dec 1730 in Northumberland
Children
Ann Wedgwood baptised 19 Jan 1739 Dearham Cumberland father Aaron Wedgwood
Mary Wedgwood baptised 8 Aug 1742 burial 12 May 1753
Dinah wedgwood baptised 18 aug 1745 in Dearham Cumberland father Aaron Wedgwood
John Wedgwood baptised 3 Apr 1748 Dearham Cumberland.

Prior to these dates the majority of Wedgwood were in the Burslam area. The move made by John Wedgwood (c.1727) to North Yorkshire in the early 18th century is well documented, it might be that the family of Aaron Wedgwood in the Cumberland area took place under similar circumstances. I guess the point I am trying to make is that probably the majority of Wedgwoods in the Cumberland area in the 18th century all belong to Aaron Wedgwood (1705) the same as the majority of Wedgwoods in North Yorkshire in the 18th century belong to John Wedgwood.-jl
