Find Ancestors

Morning all, (sorry I've had to repost as previous msg kept erroring)

Is anyone able to do a few census searches for me please?

Matthew Pickering born 1852 Newcastle Upom Tyne. I know he married a Alice Ferry in 1879 in Southampton, Hampshire and I can find them together on the 1881 census living in Southampton - states his occupation as Forgeman.

I think his parents may be George Pickering and Isabella and I am trying to find them together as a family on 1861 and 1871 census.

Any help or point in the right direction would be great.

Interesting.....um doesnt list mother but perhaps she had passed away? Does is state the father, George's, occupation and does it state what relation Barbay Cant is?

'Barbay Cant' is a boarder I think. George is a brewer. He is widowed 1861.

By the way, looking at image 1861 George is 51 not 61. So the `1851 married to Isabella must be him - his occupation is the same in any case!

Sorry just one more question
On the 1861, George 21 and Ann 16, are they listed as son and daughter, its just they dont appear on the 1851 census

They are there but Ann's age is a bit skewed! George is spot on though, 11 in 1851.

Ann is actually 11 in 1861 not 16. I think the transcriber had been at the bottle!
