Where did they marry ?

If in Scotland the marriage cert would give full details of the parents

Have you found them on 1901 census to give a clue as when and where they were born etc

Curran is probaby an Irish surname

One match for those names on Scotlandspeople but in 1896 and not 1897

When and where was the first child born ?

Looks as if you are going to have to purchase credits on Scotlandspeople to view the marriage cert.

This will cost 1 credit to view search results and a further 5 to view the image. You will then get any idea of their ages, parents names, and occupations to track them on the census. 1911 Scottish census is only on Scotlandspeople

£7 gets you 30 credits so if spent wisely you could get 5 images

BUT bear in mind that you can not view online births within the last 100 years, marriages in 75 years and death in 50 years but SP would give the details necessary to order the certs

Married 1896 or 1897 and first child born in 1912

You are going to have to get some certs

Thomas

You are confusing me as you say that Ellen in 1912 is first child then you think the 1901 census could be the right family

Looking at 1891 census there are several possibles for Elzabeth Robertson born in Dundee

So it is back to the marriage cert

I have no credits left on scotlandspeople otherwise I would be using them for my own research.

Do you not have the birth cert for your gran ? Usually scottish birth certs give the date of the parents marriage but that can sometime be wrong.

Thank you Chris

I will give up on this one as without certs it is pointless
