Find Ancestors

Hi all,

I've hit a brick wall for one side of my family. I'm trying to trace back my fathers father who left him when he was very small and was never heard of again, so I have no family information I can really fall back on. I know his name was Richard Stanley Bright, from Kings Lynn, born in 1927 (11-01-1927), he died in 1995. He married my grandmother Eileen Rogers in 1949. When he left I'm not sure but I know she remarried in 1960, and my dad was born 1950, so I think he left around 1952ish.

From somewhere I have his parents as being John Thomas Bright born around 1900 and his mother Sarah Bright born around 1900 (I'm thinking her maiden name may be Allaby but I might be stretching information I have found to fit here).

and that is all I have, anyone who may be able to point me in the right direction of finding more information out would be greatly appreciated.

Birth would seem to confirm mother's maiden name as Allaby;-

I think you should really start by buying a copy of Richard Stanley Bright's birth certificate. This will give you his father's correct name and occupation and should also give you his mother's name, which should help to confirm the marriage.
You should then buy a copy of the marriage to see how old the couple were when they married, so you can work out their dates of birth. It will also give you the names and occupations of their fathers which will help confirm, or not, the census records found above.
