Good morning I have had trouble locating my great great grandads parents?
He was Edwin George Pugh born 1879 but not sure if it was in Leciester or Stafford ware his wife Edith May Greatrex was born. She was living in Licester with her parents Thomas Shocklidge Greatrex born 1858 and Eliza Holinshead born 1860 in Stafford.
I have Ediwns marridge cert and said his dad was Edwin Pugh but have no idea of his age, birth or his wifes name? It sais he was a tin slate worker.
I have hunted on here and even found a decent of my great grandads half brothers, but he too has no idea ware Edwins dad came from and his age?

sorry just found his marridge cert and worked out Ediwn was born in 1886 not 1879 as he was 21 when he married my great great nan.

Hi Andrew that is great thanks mate! I do have the 1911 cenus and as you say there was no George, but I think he was in the army then as i have a photo of him from the boy on the census who it clames was George Greatrex a nephhew but was infact a pugh, but could of been iligitamet his great grandson gave me it. Ediwn was a enginers tool maker in 1907 when they married and lived in leciester.

This might rule out the one with parents Edwin and Susan.
he is with them on 1911 census married no wife there his occuption on that is Miller Tool Worker

Oh Mary wow!! youve only gone and found him x x It sais Tin Plate worker on the marridge cert and was married in 1907. This is brilliant! So he was from Birmingham then? The witnesses were Vilolet Greatrex, Ediths sister and the other is hard to read? Looks like Johaner Round? So Edwin was born in 1858? That would make sens as Ediths dad Thomas was also born that year but in Stafford. I wounder if the family moved to Leciester like the Greatrex's did and that's how Edith and Edwin met? You are very kind and made my day! Wonder what the Pughs were dong in London? Do you think work would of taken them there too?
