Hi All
I was wondering if anyone may be able to help me as i am unsure where to look next.
I am trying to find a marriage of John Lawrence and Ann unknown and possible births for them also any children there had.
.
This is what i do know..
Ann Lawrence Maiden name unknown died on 31.12.1844 aged 64 in Clifton Wood workhouse. The informant was Jane Lawrence as this present time i do know know who Jane is, i can only guess she is a relation of some kind. As Clifton wood records was destroyed i can not look at these. These is where he states she was a widow to John Lawrence .

I have Ann c1777 on 1841 census with her son James c1801 and his wife and family. I have not found a baptism for James so i am also unable to find a siblings for James.

Thank you for any help in advance

Hi Glitterbaby
I do not know 100% only that James first child was Ann so i was thinking that was named after his mum. James is were my husband follows down from and i know from there its is all correct..
I have James marriage to Harriet/Hannah but that does not give any witness as this was in 1823

Shirley
I found that marriage to Ann Edwards in 1808 but i dismissed it also due James birth year.
I have not found the other one so i will look into that, will have to see how far away from Bristol it is as up to now all the marriage are from Bristol

1851 - ? son James' family, but without James, who I was hoping to find to see where he was born. Wife Hannah of 1841 now appears tto be Harriett (originals look right) but it does say married not widow.

Hi Stuart
This is the correct family. I know that on the 1861 census Harriett/Hannah is showing as a widow living with only Henry.
But i have the same as you still not able to confirm where James was born as the 1841 census as you know does not state where only Gloucestershire.
So i do not know where James is. i did find a death for James in 1845 but that can not be correct as Louisa his daughter was born 1846. i will have to see if i can find out where he is...
Also i do need to confirm that Ann was James mother and is so who is Jane the informant on her death

There is a Louisa Lawrence born Sep Qtr 1845 Clifton 11 294 - this is the Reg district of the family 1841/51. THat would make her 5 years of age when the 1851 was done but 1861-5 makes 1846 to the census people.

1 death of a James Lawrence in Clifton RD - Mar Qtr 1846 11 211
1 death of a JAmes LAwrence in Bristol - MAr Qtr 1851 11 122
1 death James Richard Lawrence in Clifton - Sep Qtr 1849

Hi Stuart
That would be the correct birth for Louisa as i have her being baptism aged 2 in 1847.

I may have to look again at a later stage at James to see why he was not on the 1851 census, unless he had died and there just did not put widow for Harriett on census. I will keep a note of these deaths that you have mentioned for that time.

At present i was trying of find any siblings for this James and to see if i confirm that Ann was hes mother and then find her marriage to John.

I have been looking for this for about 3 years but keep going back to it
