"Adoptions" certainly did occur in 1911 and probably always have. However it was only in 1927 that they were formalised through the courts. Prior to that they were informal so very unlikely that any records would have been made unless perhaps the "Adoption" had been arranged through a religious organisation who may have kept their own records. |
