The Guardian minute books for Bedwellty Workhouse from 1849 until 1930 are now in the Gwent County Records Office in Cwmbran.

according to a couple of rees on ancestry, Tom Dixon was

You could be right, Bernice would be the same year now all I would need are the parents, thank you once again.

Sorry I did not have the 1911 Census when I replied. If I didn't know before I do know now that they are the correct family as Frances mother & stepfather Semei lived at Llandavel Inn in 1881, it would be too much of a co-incidence to be a mistake.Thank you for everything you have done.

HELP! I have had Frances Stanfield born 1867 married to Albert Collier with two children Albert Nigel & Nelson. I think I have made a mistake. This is what I know, Frances was born to William Stanfield & Elizabeth Williams (Widow) nee Jones in 1867. Elizabeths husband died in 1871 and she remarried his brother (my line) in 1872. In 1901 Elizabeth (Widow) was living at Cwm Ebbw Vale as Head Beer Keeper with her two granddaughters Minnie Dixon (11) & Bunnie Stanfield (5) I could never find any trace of Minnies parents until today I was checking out my paperwork which made me look further and found a marriage for a Frances Elizabeth A Stanfield & Tom Dixon. They appear to have two daughters Maud Elizabeth & Minnie Mignette Dixon. Have looked on Ancestry and on the 1871 Census she is with her family under the name Frances Elizabeth A Stanfield. I really would like some kind of confirmation with regards 1901 & 1911 Census please. I have one contact that I think I got the informaton from and just checked back on her tree, she still has Frances with Albert Collier.I usually check out all information that I receive but it is such a long time ago I can't remember what happened. I have looked for marriages for the couple and can find none, just two for Albert with other people. Any help would be appreciated.
