This is from the 'Parish register transcripts, 1646-1724
Parish Church of Wethersfield (Essex)

So I had a look at the registers, just clicking around, and there is alot of activity for the surname Livermore however the registers are in a terrible state :-( They have been badly damaged with bits of pages missing and/or faded.

So it is possible that if Stephen was baptised or married at Wethersfield the details may not be found......So sorry to be the bearer of possible bad news.

Wethersfield to Felstead is 6.7 miles so maybe Mary lived between them and they married there?? Fingers crossed.

But, of course, the Wethersfield Livermores may have nothing to do with your Livermores :-(

The register actual gives...

Abraham son of Abraham Livermore and Mary his wife.
Bap. 7th Bor. 30th

So looking at the entries it is clear that he was acually born on the 30th September and Baptised on the 7th October.

I can see why the transcriber was confused!

Doesn't help with search for Stephen and Mary though, sorry.

I have just checked the burial entry for Stephen in 1721 and it just states

30 December 1721 Stephen Livermore was buried.
As the other entries state if it was a son/daughter then I think it is safe to say he was an adult.

23 February 1722
An infant of the widow Livermores was buried.

There is no baptism for this infant in the register.
How sad if it is Mary losing both husband and new born within a couple of months.

AnnCardiff's find for 1688 is not in the Felstead register.

On Familysearch there´s a submitted record for Stephen Livermore born abt 1788 Felstead Essex. (submitted by a researcher, not from parish records.)
You could try the Essex records site (SEAX). Used to be free to search, but I think it´s recently become pay per view.
Have the same problem myself with early Essex records.They are not well recorded.

My 6x great grandfather Stephen Livermore was buried in Felsted, Essex on 30th December 1721. His wife's name was Mary. I can't find Mary's family name or when/where either Stephen or Mary were born.

Can anyone help please?
