Yes, Ann, we realise that but which Stephen is the one with the daughter Elizabeth? As Richard's son Stephen was living with his mother in 1851, then it would appear to be James's son. Stephen and Sarah Atkinson's marriage cert would confirm it.

Stephen James b:1825 married Sarha Atkinson b:1817
Stephen was the son of James James and Ann Fairclough
Stephen had a sistaer Ann b:1837 she married James Bell

Richard James and Jane Rennison had also a son call Stephen b:1826
he hadn't a sister call Ann

Sorry, Ann. I read your original posting as - Henry with daughter Elizabeth in 1881 was the son of Richard!

I am looking for Stephen James b: 1826 Burton inKendal, Westmorland the son of Richard James b:1749 Wharton, Lancashire and Jane Rennison b:1803
1881 Census shows - Stephen James Age 55y living Blea Cot Farm Witherslack, Westmorland with his Daughter Elizabeth
