Sorry made a mistake for death of Wm Chas NIBLETT; he died in 1924 not 1972!

I can't see marriages or children for Oswald or Chas, sadly. So looks like the end of the line :-(

There is a great obituary for Joseph at Papers Past on 8 Oct 1888 in Star. :-)

He was a journalist - as was his son:
The death is announced at Rotorua of Mr. Oswald Walter Exall, lately editor of. the Rotorua Chronicle," and journalist, in New-Zealand for 50 years.

At Archway (NZ Archives site) there is this Wellington probate file:

EXALL Oswald Walters 1925
also a Chas Francis EXALL probate for 1929, also Wellington.

At https://www.bdmonline.dia.govt.nz/ his death reg shows Chas was aged 71 (reg 2227). Oswald (reg 3838) was 69. So Chas another brother?

Was the Joseph EXALL who died in NZ on 7th Oct 1888 aged 70 their father? Ah yes I see Mary Edith was born there in 1877 to him & Henrietta Beatrice (m. 1874 after the death of his first wife Mary on 21st April 1874 at Christchurch, aged 46).

Have you followed up Mary Edith's sister Flora Beatrice (1875-1905), who married Wm NIBLETT in 1901? They had 2 sons (Wm Hy 1901 & Thos Walter 1904) and a daughter (Rose Ellen 1903).

Wm Hy died aged 22 on 8 May 1972 and did not marry. Thos Walter died 11 June 1972 aged 69 and was married but can't find his wife's name.

Hi...I don`t suppose you could look for Oswald Walter Exall...brother of Mary Edith Exall who married Stephen Brown Deverell. Last I have of this Oswald..born Hobart 1854 was a passenger list for Christchurch NZ May 1896 nd a report of a fire in Wellington NZ where Oswald Exall raised the alarm and saved people. Just wondered if he ever married and had a family.

My last hope of Exall descendents I think! sonya :-S

Thats the one.....another dead end. I was trying to find some continuation of the Exall family and Mary Edith Exall married Stephen Brown-Deverell. Perhaps they had more children? The father Joseph was a reporter in NZ and had a few children mostly girls and many died young. Thanks sonya
