Mary Ann King baptised 20 Feb 1820

Ed. Report 12 Jan 2012 10:59

Mary Ann was born at Silverton, the daughter of Henry King and Eleanor Davey.( A second Mary Ann King was apparently also born about the same time, in the same area.)

C1841 shows Mary Ann 20 living with the Davey family (Possibly her relatives) at Broadclist.

C1851 shows Mary King b Bradninch 26 no occupation living as a lodger at Bradninch.
Both of these may be ok although ages vary.

C 1861/71 record a Mary Ann b Kingston in each case 40/50 yrs
occ. dressmaker on both living at two different addresses.

c1881 has Mary A. King b Kingston 60 no occ. living at a third address.

C1891shows Mary b Bradninch 68 living alone as Head at Bradninch

Can someone please make sense of all this for me - maybe i have missed some others!! Or are most or all of them incorrect because she died early in her life??
Thanks
Ed.

Ed they had naming patterns in early years which makes it very difficult for us to follow the families. All the brother would call their children the same names making it very hard!!

I have people in my tree from Silverton too!

Mel

They tend to be strewn about in different records - the only one that i have not been able to find something on is Robert -but fortunately i have a contact in UK who is a descendant of his.

Strange that you mention Sarah - she was to be my next query - as i have exactly the same problem with her as i do with Mary Ann !!
No Census records !! Did she die or did she marry//

Many thanks for your help once again
