Find Ancestors

I'm trying to trace the above. Census records show her birthplace as Bishops Hull or Taunton, but I can't trace her Birth records anywhere.
According to a family source, she married Edwin ROBERTS in about 1852 but I can't trace this marriage on FreeBMD or elsewhere.
Any help would be appreciated

So Martin. Where does the name Wilkinson come from. Is it from one of the children's birth certificates?

Your 1861 Census is the correct family. Cecilia Anna (Roberts) Pomeroy b 1857 Oswestry was my gr grandmother. I'm trying to confirm her mother Elizabeth's maiden name. I thought that it was Macey, but an old family letter says that it was Wilkinson

Another thought. If Elizabeth Wilkinson b 1828, had married about, say 1846 at age 18, to a Macey, and was then widowed, the marriage of Edwin Roberts and Elizabeth Macey in Dec 1852 would be posible. Their first child (Ernest Alfred) was born in Dec 1853 (Taunton 5c 375) .
I don't have any Birth Certificates, only Census records.

My great Aunt, Ethel Pomeroy left some notes which have just come to light. She wrote that she had lived with her grandmother, Elizabeth (Wilkinson) Roberts in London in the 1890s in London after her (Ethel's) mother had died. She wrote that Elizabeth "was a Wilkinson from Taunton". Cecilia (Roberts) Pomeroy died in 1894. Cecilia's parents were Edwin Roberts and Elizabeth Wilkinson. Cecilia was b 1857 in Oswestry.

1901. Was Erich mistranscribed in 1861. In 1871 he is Ernest Alfred so this is Elizabeth with her eldest son. No sign of Ethel but maybe she stayed between census records as in 1891 Elizabeth is still in Taunton.

I did look for a Macey/Wilkinson marriage earlier but couldn't locate one.
If you get the marriage certificate it will tell you her status but as far as I can tell from the census records Elizabeth Macey is still in Bishop's Hull in 1851 with her parents and Edwin is in Taunton. He is a tailor and she is a milliner so it would seem likely that they met through their trade. But it all depends if she is the correct person and the only way to prove it is to either get one of the children's birth certificates or Elizabeth and Edwin's marriage certificate. Would seem a tenner well spent to me.

I am now more certain that the marriage of Edwin Roberts and Elizabeth Macey (Taunton Dec 1852 5c 718) is correct. This is confirmed further by the 1851 Census showing Elizabeth Macey (23) as being born in Bishops Hull and living with her parents in Taunton.

I am left with the dilemma that Ethel Pomeroy stated in her note that "she (Elizabeth Roberts) was a Wilkinson from Taunton". Ethel probably wrote the notes in the 1930s.
So, where does the Wilkinson fit in? A Marriage Certificate may be the only answer.
The search coninues. If anything turns up I'll post it.
