Donnie Ive added some info to the census I posted yesterday on page one. It looks like Ada was married before and Jarl was in fact Jack!

MarieCeleste --- Sadley this is all the information I have as Morley was in LA in 1930 when the census was taken I did wonder if their daughter might have been born there. But this is on my assumption that because she was not with them for the census she must have been born after it was taken. Also that they stayed in LA for a while but then in 1941 Morley died in Ohio so I quess she could have been born anywhere..
I guess this is a needle in a haystack

Donnie - I have a subscription to Ancestry Worldwide. I'm not aware of any free sites, other than FamilySearch - but I've never had much luck on there for US BMDs.

US records are harder to search than ours as they are all grouped by state or county, and not all are available.

Is this to do with the announcement of a daughter that you mentioned? Do you have any further details?

I have no idea what happeded to Ethel she and Morley married in Northumberland uk in 1909 they had a son in born in Somerset November 1911 but sadley he died in Chorley Lancashire in 1912. Two years later Morley left for the states I can onlyt assume that Ethel didn't go with him as have found no death for her.What you have found has been very helpful thank you as i had no real idea what happened once he went to America apart from that he had married Ader. I did find a birth announcement for a daughter born to Mr & Mrs Morley Lockyear on the 29th December but have no name or year. I also failed to find a marriage for Ader & Morley. Morley died in Ohio in 1941

Some additional information from the 1930 census that Gins and Andrew posted:

For Morley Clifford it states he is an engineer and first arrived in US in 1914. In the column for naturalisation it has Pa - so guess that's the state where it happened. Surprisingly, there is a "No" in the column for being a veteran of the US armed forces - Gins has posted his draft registration (unless he was registered but never actually served?). His age at first marriage is given as 27.

For Ada E she is recorded as being born in Oregon and was 20 when she first married.

For Jarl H (I don't think that's right but the writing is bad) he is listed as born in Michigan and is down as step-son to Morley Clifford.

His birth year seems to vary a bit, but the date is consistent:
