Find Ancestors

The son of Thomas Lindsey and Sarah (nee Lyon), Minsey was born about 1867 in St Lukes, Middlesex. This is according to the 1881 England Census where Minsey was staying with his grandparents (Sarah's parents). From here... nothing. Both GR and Ancestry have transcribed the name as Minsey. Is this name short for another name?
After Thomas died, Sarah remarried - Alexander Horatio Clark where she had 5 more children. It appears that Thomas died before the birth of his son.

After staring at the 1881 image it does look like Henry

Isn't son in law another term for step-son?? I have seen that mentioned on threads before......

It is another name for stepson but this couple have been married years so he would not be a stepson in this particular case

Tashnben has all the other records in her tree on ancestry but I cannot see any reference for Henry Lyon

It does look like Henry on the 1881, and that means it has been mis-transcribed as Henry

which means he cannot be the father of Henry Lindsey



which may be why he is under the name of Lyon on the 1871 Census

There does not seem to be a birth for Henry Lyon in that area so if he was registered he could well be the Henry Edward Lindsey I found ??
