	thank you so much everyone. I came up with the names Edward Mason AND James Shimmeks after looking it up on this site. It comes up as Mary Eliza marrying one of those two. I hadn't heard of John Gridwood Reid before. Her father was Robert Etches, compositor. Thanks everyone.

	Can anyone help. She either married Edward Mason or James Shimmeks. Cannot find out which and having problems with the name Shimmeks. have tried shimmers and shimmels but not finding James on any census. Suggestions please. thanks, Lesley
