New thread:

"Hello Folks.
Thankyou for previous help.
Can anyone assist with Ada Powell?
All I know is that she was living in Jersey C.I. in June 1869 when she gave birth to an illegitemate daughter Charlotte Banche Powell, my great aunt.
Charlotte is variously listed as Carlotta and Colather.
Charlotte remained in Jersey until the 1890s. Listed in census reports as the adopted daughter of George Bulson b.1823 Somerset, my great grandfather and Charlottes putative parent.
Pam"

Subject: Ada Powell

All I know about Ada Powell is that she was the mother of Charlotte Blanche Powell. born in Jersey 1869

From my chilhood I remember family stories about an heiress. disowned by her family for an elopement with the coachman.
George (1823) Bulson was a coachman and a reputed roue.

I have never found any evidence of this story. Hence, could Ada be the girl?
Thanks for your interest. Pam
