Many thanks for all your replies - it has been very useful and I have just been in touch with the relevant office and managed to find the correct marriage; I am ordering direct from them :-)

I have not done it myself but you can order from the GRO without reference numbers. Just follow the instructions.

Thanks for that Perchino, it doesn't seem to work though, it says page not found :-(
Never mind, thanks for taking the time to reply.

I think there are 3 people on Mary Ann's page on Free BMDs site (and yes I can't count - but still 4 boys and 2 girls still is strange ............

Hi Kimothy,

You could always order direct from the local register office where you wouldn't need the volume and page details

Yes I know they do but it's possible that the original parish record was mis transcribed I think?
I cant think of another explanation; also there are 7 people on P861 and 3 people on P891 which is indicative of an error somewhere ......
Thanks for taking the time to look :-)

When you look at the actual images on FreeBMD both pages look to be exactly as transcribed.

Hi.
I wondered if anyone has access to the original Parish Records of Sudbury please?
I am looking for the marriage of Walter Dedman in Qtr 4 of 1858. He married Mary Ann Ward. The details I have managed to obtain are conflicting - Walter's ref is 4a P861 and Mary Ann's is 4a P891. I have checked this out on severals sites now and think that one of them is a transcription error.
I want to order their marriage certificate but would like the correct information if possible.
Any suggestions please?
Many thanks, Kimmy
