Hi All

Need a little bit of assistance regarding this person.

Louie Dibb (Yes its Louie not Louise) born 1916 Pontefract.

I have found her birth on FBMD and she's down as Louis Dibb...it states her mothers maiden name is Carr. However I cannot find a marriage for a Dibb to a Carr. I am awaiting this woman's birth certificate and her marriage certificate but as everyone knows its a nightmare waiting for the postman and Patience is not a Virtue I hold!!!

Seeing as she was born 1916 I am thinking there is a possibility that her parents had an Army Marriage which might therefore not have made it onto FBMD.....can anyone help please.

The only possibility I can find is way too early:

Marriages Sep 1881
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
CAREY Sarah Ann J B Hull 9d 365
>>>CARR Clara Hull 9d 365
>>>DIBB Arthur Knocker Hull 9d 365
JACKSON James Goodworth Hull 9d 365

Edit: Found them in census 1891 and Clara was born c1858, so that rules them out even as a very long shot!

Marriages Dec 1913 (>99%)
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Carr Sarah Priestley Pontefract 9c 294
Priestley Joseph R Carr Pontefract 9c 294

Marriages Jun 1916 (>99%)
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Dibb Arthur H Priestley Pontefract 9c 238
Priestley Sarah Dibb Pontefract 9c 238

So looks like Joseph Priestley died poss in the war but my computer is on a go slow at the moment :-D

I would have thought the best place to start would be to buy her birth certificate which would give you her parents names.

There are many military notes on Ancestry for Joseph Robert Priestley.
His marriage to Sarah CARR is noted there, - I think on 24.12.1913 and the birth of their daughter Irene in July 1914 at Castleford.
Sarah signs as Sarah DIBB, when she acknowledges receipt of his medals in 1919 and 1921 and is shown as his widow on the list of his relatives.
