Hi there, Im looking for any information on Clement Bernard Jeffries known as Bernard Jeffries who married my grandmother Doreen Harding in Cardiff, his father who we do not have a first name for had a Dental Surgery in Paget Street Cardiff I woulod be grateful for any information thanks

Hello all,

Thanks for all the help, here is what I know.

Mrs Doreen Jeffries is my Grandmother aged 84 still living.
I found the copy of the marriage certificate on GR but I do not have the original.
They did get divorced but I do not have the dates.
My nan has a very sketchy memory of the details apart from her husbands name she can not remember his father although she thinks she can remember an Albert ? and knows he was a Dentist.
We also know Clement Bernard Jeffries died in 2004/2005 but again I do not have original record, and could not find Death cert on this site.
I am new to the research in the sense that I have only used this site.
Did Jefferies get spelt differently because of a spelling mistake?
Also do original records give out more details? like the mothers name?

You say you found a copy of the marriage cert on GR - what do you mean by that?
Did someone send you a copy or do you mean you just have the registration details?

You will not get any full details off this site you will need to order the certs as mentioned

I think it would be in your best interest to purchase Clement's birth certificate rather than the marriage certificate.

That way, you will get information on both parent's...........whereas the marriage cert will only give you details of his father.

Thanks for your replies, I am new to the research side of things. I did not realise that the documents on Genes Reunited were different to the originals (ie) the originals contain more infomation.
I though I was looking at exact copies.
So when I research I need to order copies of originals to confirm all the details when investigating further back in time to make sure all the details are correct ? as I have done a lot research on this site based on censuses and other documents from genes reunited so I think I will have to start buying all the original maybe or I could be following some of the wrong leads.
Also PH mentioned buying Clement's birth certificate, I could not find any reference to that on this site, so I didnt think one existed, does it just mean that Genes Reunited does not have a copy?

Clement's birth is on GR Just put in Clement jefferies and it comes up 1927 cardiff but you could also find it on freebmd

No site will have the birth marriage or death cert to view they have to be purchased through GRO I gave the link for that also

I would think what you have been looking at are census records??
