I think it is possible that he also had a sibling Eunice (seesms reasonable given mother's name) who died as an infant

My Grandmother was Eunice Hampson born 1880
Her father was Thomas Hampson born 1838 .
Eunice's grandfather was Jethro Hampson born 1806.
I have traced Robert hampson and Paul hampson two of Thomas's siblings with no problem .I have census 1841/51 and families of the siblings .
the only mystery is Richard .
I have checked BMD's for likely marriage's to Richard but none seem correct .
I have also checked with a relation who has my hampson family on their tree and he agrees all is correct.
I must say all the years i have been using Genes I have never put info in that is incorrect .
I do check my facts before asking anyone for advice

Richard Hampson had 4 siblings .
Paul born abt 1830
Betty born abt 1832
Robert born abt 1834
and Thomas born abt 1838.

As far as I know they all came from Bedford.
There occupation was Silk weavers .

Thanks to everyone who has given me all this information .
I was wondering if Richard had been married twice and now I am sure he must have .I will check up on the marriage of Richard and Alice Critchley to see if Jethro is down as the father of Richard .
I have most of the info on the rest of the family so I am very grateful for this help.

Agree with Mike. In 1851 Richard son of Jethro is listed as born in Bedford Lancs and I wondered whether this could be him in 1861 with Bedford mistranscribed? The occupation of silk weaver matches his occupation in 1851

Trying to find out when Richard hampson was married .
he was born abt 1836 , his father was Jethro hampson and mother margaret Yates .
He is married on the 1881 census to a mary Ann ?????? ,cannot locate him on the 1861/71 census .On the 1881 census he is 48 yrs old so he could have been married earlier, as well.but can find no trace .
