If you check my post of 4 Nov 2011 22:37 I found what I think might be William's birth, David and Sarah's marriage, and Sarah's death.

As Rose says you can't take for granted that David is the father. Especially as William's names don't reflect either his grandfather Robinson or David so are possibly reflecting his father. There's 2 years between William's birth and Sarah's marriage. A lot can happen in relationships in that time.

William's birth certificate may tell you, but don't count on it.

So are you saying Sarah Robinson had William J Robinson whose father was David Little, so did David marry Sarah and then have Isaac Little and Richard D Little???

David's birth year is 1845/1844 from the 1891 census.
Have you got his marriage certificate with the name of his Father, to help find him in earlier censuses?

No Patcham l do not would love to have them

Have you got David in 1861 and 1851 censuses?
(There is no David born in 1847 in Carlisle in free bmd)
