Dea - a couple of years ago I sent a correction for the 1861 Scottish census to Ancestry. For parish # 169, they've transcribed the "Civil parish" as Aberlour, whereas it is Aberdour - just 1800+ mistranscriptions. They told me at the time they'ld put it on the pile and check it when they got round to it. |

I was told he was born at home and never registered but I did put that he wasn't registered in my original post, he must have somehow got himself registered because they owned 2 house one here and 1 in spain so surely he would have had to prove citizenship or something |

Looks like he may not have been registered . Your mum and her twin were done late so maybe they didnt register Victor and left too late as there was a fine for non or late registration |

Its very blurred on the actual typed GRO page so is a transcription error on Ancestry, If you would like me to add the right surname I will do so . :-D |

brummiejan You click on add alternative info ,then reason and click maiden name then put the explanation in the reason or source of your update,I think it shows eventually as a black pen thingy by the side of the name which peeps can click on to see the info |

I think you 'are' being a numpty Jan - I am sure you can put a correction on anything on Ancestry, though it is rather fiddly and takes a long time to be added. |

looks like its just a transcription error as the page type is very blurred. You can click add alternative information and the do the correction which will take time to show on the record. This is on the Ancestry record |
