I have just read the other posts - which I should have done first! I believe there are 2 James Tophams born about the same time but the details of the one on my tree which you have access to are the correct ones. On the marraige cert he was a widower but I dont have details of his first wife

I have a copy of Annes Marraige Certificate - her father is John Deane Labourer but that is as far as I have got.

Where did you find out about his birth year and birthplace?

What was his occupation?

Ann Dean 1811-1866 Middlewich, Cheshire married James Topham - Police Constable. Anne's father it would appear is John Deane b. Cheshire. England c1780.

It is this John Deane i am interested to findout more about...
