Jacqueline.
Have given you the marriage for James & Mary.
Caroline marr Benjamin Preston, a chimney sweep St Giles Camberwell 9.2.1841.
Still no sign of a marriage for James & Martha, although she is named as the mother of James jnr bapt 10.3.1843 Newington St Mary.

I don't know i just thought her name was martha because she was the informant on carolines death cert but if mary was her mother then martha would be her stepmother. caroline died in 1861.
is there a marriage for james and mary?
thanks for your help

Do you know if Caroline is definitely their daughter, or could James have married twice? (She is not with them in 1841)

wisechild Report 30 Oct 2011 13:17

Could James have been married twice?
Looking at the records for Camberwell, the older children seem to have Mary as their mother.Only Anna in 1839 & James in 1843 have Martha.
Anna was baptised Camberwell St Giles & James Newington St Mary.

James Woodham marr Mary Haselgrove 26.11.1820 St Martin in the Fields Westminster.
Mary Woodham died 3rd quarter 1838 Camberwell.
