Unfortunately not Flick, but on IGI there is the marriage between Robert and Margaret Gibson Dysart 31 Oct 1809 plus 4 births to them including a Peter in Dysart

Both David and Agnes were born in Scoonie, according to 1851 census.......

That 1851 census looks great - we didn't have that and that would give us another generation. The age on that for Peter works out right for the approx age we had plus we had he was born in Dysart, Fife so this is really good - THANKS!!

I believe this is him as I found this last weekend but with the 1871 census which gave similar info. Hoping also to be able to go further back as well with both families. Thanks again. Any info is gratefully received and very much appreciated!

And which branch of the family does your friend hope to learn more about?

I'm trying to find out more information of a friend's great great grandparents and family from Scotland.

Peter Elder and Janet Burnett were born in Scotland - their son Robert married Catherine Stewart (we think her parents were John Stewart b c 1816 and Elizabeth Kirk b c 1818). Catherine and their children (we are presuming Robert died in Scotland) emigrated to New Zealand. Their son John married Mary Hogg McDonald in Partick, Scotland in Nov 1920. They are my friends paternal grandparents.

I would appreciate it if anyone has extra info on this family so that I can pass it on to my friend and her father, now nearly 90.
