Thanks Dea,

You're right, I have found the marriage of Arthur (1904), father Ernest, to Clara Tither in 1930.

Lancs BMD:

http://www.lancashirebmd.org.uk/index.php

Very useful site for Lancs details - even gives mothers maiden names for births for several areas, right back to 1837 !!

Then, if you find the church they were married in, you can often cross reference them to this site and see the actual parish entries:

A tree on Ancestry suggests that the 1910 one is 'yours':

arthur longworth
B:1910 in Greater Manchester, Lancashire, United Kingdom
D:25 dec 1957 in great lever bolton lancashire

Does the date of death match the info you have?

Thanks Dea and PricklyHolly.

Sorry Dea,

He’s 8 MONTHS old at the time of the census - March 1911 and he’s marked down as born 1911 ????

I’d found him registered in Sep 1910.

I have a distant relation living in Bolton, Lancs in the 1911 census either

Arthur Longworth born 1903/4
OR
Arthur Longworth born 1910

Would some kind member look them up as further details may help me to decide which.
