Dear Flick, Many thanks for the additional information, a couple of the census I've come across on Ancestry. I think it's possible you could be ( if not already) a connection, after all you're not armed with all this information if you aren't part of the equation ! ! I've a few note books, one is for Carter's in Devon info, some of the pieces will now fit in. There is also a Carter bible, unfortunately it suffered an accident a few years back, missing from it are the front pages that held b,m,ds on all Carter's for 100s of years (scream) .Plenty of time and more help centers nowadays, Thanks again for yours ........... going home to Ancestry. When you say about the tree searches being 'no tree matches or don't exist', I presume you are talking about the trees on this site...??

When you enter the names you are researching, it pays not to be too precise with information. Allow a margin of at least 2 years in the birthdate section and, for the place of birth, try a selection of the town, the County or leave it blank. The way other members add their information to their trees can be very varied :-D


If you DO find a connection and send a message to the tree owner, you will see a little white envelope beside the sent message. If it remains purple, then it hasn't been opened. If it turns white, then the message has either been opened or deleted.

Hopefully, you will find a connection soon.
