Grr how annoying especially as from those details she is not mine. If she was a spinster then she wouldn't have had another name of WHITLEY which means it is back to the drawing board.

Am I ever to find this BOSWELL & WHITLEY marriage lol, perhaps they didn't marry, it would of been during the war and then she just took on his name.

Sue that is the same one that Jan just found but thank you for it. I have just ordered the cert as a long shot as now seem to have exhausted all other routes.

I never thought of that, I think I still have some 192.com credits left so will have a look at the couple of addresses I do have.

that is the only one,,note the surname is SMITH

The couple you are wanting to find a marriage for may not have actually got married as it would have been during WW1..

OK! The other route you can try if you haven't already is to check out the electoral register for the address on the birth cert, or any other address you have. It's a bit limited -'Rosetta' would have to be 30 to be shown 1919 - but you never know.

Jan that second one although surname different is definitely possible as Bethnal Green is the right area and marriage a couple of years before daughter born.

I think just at a long shot I may order that one and see what her status was at time of marriage.

Thanks for all your help.

Umm I will hold onto that one. This is one of those lines I tried to sort out a few years back but got no where and just thought I would have another go now that 1911 census is available and my husband's aunt is interested.

Jan I only have a bad copy of the cert as have lent it to my husband's aunt who is going to ask a few relatives if they have any idea's. Once I get it back at the weekend I will rescan and then pm you. Would definitely love another opinion as it is so frustrating.

Thanks

It looks like Rose---- I can't read it all. Someone on here had a look and told me that's what they thought it said.

Kim, if you have her birth cert, I am not sure why you are unsure of her mother's name?

Lily/Lilian J is the one I have the certs for she married Sydney/Sidney THOMPSON in 1938 Stepney, London.

Kim

Kim Report 12 Oct 2011 14:08

I don't think so. Everyone seems to believe they were from the East End Of London through and through plus those names don't fit with the Mary Jinny/Jenny combination I have.

I did see that one on FreeBMD and have recorded it just in case.

Thanks

Jan I started another post as was asking something different sorry will remember in future.

Ok lets see if anyone can find this marriage please

Jack BOSWELL & ?? WHITLEY possible first name Rosetta.

I have tried Freebmd without any luck and those names are from daughter's birth and marriage cert although I know Jack can sometimes be John etc.

I know they definitely had one child born 1919 Mile End and another which cannot be found (see post before).

All help or ideas gratefully received as I feel I am going round in circles with this part of hubby's family.
