Find Ancestors

I am trying to find out about my Great Great Uncle Julian Robert Williams born 12/9/1892 in Battersea.

My grandad and my great Aunts did not know they had an uncle ~ He was never spoken about and I would like to know why!

I found him on the 1901 census living with his parents (and my Great grandmother Amy) and I found him again on 1911 census living in Battersea with his Grandmother (my gr gr great grandmother) Alice Williams. Julian was now 17 and a photographer.

Where do I go from here? I can not find any marriage or death record for him.

I AM TOTALLY STUCK ~ I really want to solve this mystery for my great Aunts.

I have Julian's birth certificate so know he was born 12/9/1892. But all the dates recorded are wrong ~ they are one for two years out.

Chris Ho :) ~ that is the correct record ~ Dad Walter, Mum Amy, Sister Amy (also had a younger brother Walter).

Glitterbaby ~ The records you have found could be him? How would I find that out for certain?

Do you think the 2 on the Birth Cert. could be a 3?...
His Birth above comes under Dec. quarter 1893, as his Baptism was 10yrs later perhaps they got the day muddled!.

edits (notes on 1911 next to Photographer, says Cinematography worker, could tie in with Occ. on Army papers, Theatre Manager?)...

There are two other people with a Julian Williams born 1894 Battersea in their trees on this site, have you tried contacting them?

Julian's dob is 12/9/1893.

I have looked up the miltary records as suggested and I think it is my relative.

He was in the Non-Combatant corps (No3 Northern?) in 1916 ~ so was a conscientious objector? ~ that maybe the reason he was not part of the family anymore :0(

Does anyone know anything about what the No 3 Northern NCC did? Where they were posted etc.

He also has his address as The Theatre Royal, Middlesborough and occupation as Theatre Company Manager ~ can anyone shed any light on that side of his life?

I sent for the death certificate suggested by Glitterbaby and it is my long lost Uncle Julian Robert Williams. He died in 1972 in Cheadle and the death was registered by Julian Ronald Archer William (son).

I have looked up possible birth records for Julian Ronald Archer and have found a possible on for 1926 in Lambeth ~ Mum listed as Hutton?

BUT I still can not find a marriage certificate for Julian Robert. Any ideas?

there is no death record for Julian 1926 shown up to 2005

... Chris suggested contacting the people with Julian Williams 1894 Battersea in their trees ... a person born in late 1893 will show a year of birth calculated from age ( e.g. in censuses ) as 1894 ... people do not always get exact information before putting entries in their trees

no other Julian Williams was born 1885-1900 so it seems unlikely that those people are not related to your Julian 1893

Just to clear up any confusion I have caused by misreading the birth certificate ~ Julian Robert's actual dob is 12/9/1893 (from BC) but Julian seemed to think that his dob was 12/9/1894 (all other documents and DC).

I have contacted the people with Julian Robert on their trees but they have no more information to add as they are not direct decendents of his (I'm not either ~ I'm a direct decendant of his Sister Amy Florence)

My next step is to track down the BC of Julian Robert's son ~ Julian Ronald Archer Williams ~ which I think is the BC confirmed by Chris Ho :).

very probably the parents of the younger Julian were simply not married

he was in the theatre, after all :-)
