Have you been able to get a copy of his death cert? There may be info on it that will tell if he was married.

My Great Uncle, John Carrington Dunn was born 1877 in Sunderland. He was In the Durham Light Infantry No 27005. He was in the Imperial Army and went to the Boer War and was made a Freeman of the City of Sunderland as a result of his contributions. We have found his death in February 1955 in Western Cape South Africa. We have since drawn a blank with regards to marriage and any possible children......wondered if anyone able to help. Thanks for reading this. Michelle
Update: Have sent off to South Africa for Estate Papers for John Carrington Dunn and shows a wife Sarah Isobel Johanna Dunn (nee Cloete) born 1871 died in Cape SA in 1947. On estate papers it states that there are no children BUT!!! I have now found a passenger list for a Mrs S. I. J. Dunn coming to the UK in Nov 1915 from South Africa ith 3 children (Miss S Dunn b 1898, Miss L Dunn b 1900 and Master G Dunn b 1909.
Have had no luck searching for the three children and wondered if anyone could throw any light on it.
Regards
Michelle :-S
