Find Ancestors

Does anyone have any information on John Jarvis Hague (born 1893) he married Lena Garland (born 1897) they both married in 1916 in the Ecclesall Bierlow area according to my father they had 8-9 kids one being my gran-dad Douglas Hague.

Any info on the kids and any more on John Jarvis Hagues side of the family would really help.

George Hague (Born 1843) & Mary Hague ( Born 1838) both from sheffield has anyone gone further back to the parents or possibly got a marriage or death certificate ? marys maiden name would be very helpful too.

people did post information and questions for you there and you should reply ... you can say you are continuing now in this thread, I already posted a link to it in that thread

to continue it here now, which is probably best, you could answer some of those questions

what do you know about them ? children's names ? somebody has to find them in some censuses to get information about them and to do that we need info like children's names to make sure we find the right couple ... can you just post a census here showing them ?

as you see from posts on this board it is almost a zero chance that someone who has 'gone further back' will ever see your post ... it is other unrelated members who will be likely to help by doing the searching

have you looked for a marriage at freebmd ?

I see there are numerous marriages possibly of a George Hague to a Mary in Sheffield ... 1856, 1860, 1862, 1863, 1864 ...

the only way you are going to get Mary's name is to order a birth certificate for one of their children because it is impossible to guess which marriage would be theirs

then you will need to order their marriage certificates since it seems that there were numerous George Hagues in the neighbourhood at least

is John Jarvis Hague a grandchild of George and Mary ? that would make Herbert c1872 a son ?

that is certainly the same family but George aged 20 years in a decade

his birth could have been 1838 or 1848 from those ages
Mary Ann's was about 1848

can you say whether this is the right family, and where your dates of 1843 for George and 1838 for Mary come from ?

you are not thinking of them being 43 and 38 in 1881 are you ?


unfortunately there were 3 Herbert Hague-s born in Sheffield in 1872 ...

this is probably the child transcribed by ancestry as 'Hebeam'
