I found Robert WIlliam Williams on the 1841, his father, John is shown as a Carpenter so this fits, his mother is elsewhere

I have Julia and John together on the '51 but Robert is not with them, there are a couple of possibles though

I had spotted a couple of deaths but not having any idea of age [at marriage] it was hard to pin point the right one

Robert William Williams father was a John Williams, both were carpenters.

Bear with me as I'm at work and have to actually do some now and again, plus this pc throws me off this site for some reason

This looks like the marriage but there is a 'bride' missing from the record

Thank you Ginny for confirming that birth and that is the right 1871 but the transcriptions all seemed to have moved down a line, Rebecca Baker lives with the next family down, if that makes sense.

It is Jax, but would like to confirm the childrens births if at all possible

And in case anyone recognises Robert jnr I posted a general query asking why a 'a' was posted next to a page number on a birth index a few days ago and his name was mentioned as it was his daughters birth

Hoping someone can help with this family. This is what I have so far

Robert William Williams married Isabella Stephenson on 16 May 1853 in Lambeth, Surrey. The cert says both of full age [so no help there] and Robert is a carpenter, as is his father John

The family then appear on the 1871 census In Fullham: RG10, piece 72, folio 53, page 41

Somewhere between May 1853 and 1855 Robert and Isabella must have travelled to Australia, and came back between 1866-1871.
Whether Robert died in Australia or back in England I'm not sure.

I have traced Isabella Stephenson back and I have traced the family forwards from 1871, so i don't need help with that but I don't seem to able to find Robert on the 1841/51 census' but not having an approx birth year doesn't help

Can anyone help with the Australian births and possibly with the death of Robert? I have had a look on Ancestry and there is a likely birth for Robert Stephenson Williams but as I don't have a worldwide subscription I can't check it is him.

Also I have looked at the IGI but they are submitted records and they have the marriage date wrong anyway
