1851 census for Bradford please

I am looking for Mary Clark who, from the 1881 census and her age of 19 when she got married on 23 Jan 1859, would be born c.1839. From her marriage detail her father was Samuel Clark a foundryman (I've got the correct occupation today!)
Can anyone see a match in the 1851 please?

Many thanks,
Frances

I have been reviewing this 1851 census and it seems likely there were later children. Is anyone able to see this family in 1861 please?

Thank you IanPJS. The 1841 is most welcome as I found

SARAH CLARK
Christening: 09 DEC 1832 Bradford, Yorkshire
Father: SAMUEL CLARK
Mother: ELIZABETH
ANN 12 OCT 1834 Bierley

in IGI but was not sure whether they were the same family and it also suggests that the marriage was

SAMUEL CLARK Marriage: 05 FEB 1832 Tong, Yorkshire
Spouse: ELIZABETH ELLIS

but whilst I have found Samuel 1811 Bradford in IGI I cannot see an Elizabeth Ellis in Idle.

Looking at the two nephews in 1871 I wonder if finding them in 1861 will explain whose nephews they are, Samuel's or Elizabeth's?

Thank you Dea. If they were really nephews they weren't Samuel's!

I wonder if Elizabeth Ellis was previously a Pearson....?

Dea

Dea Report 7 Sep 2011 11:12

Ohhh - now then - I couldn't find this on BMD but have found what looks like Eli's marriage to a Nanny Pitts on Parish Records???

West Yorkshire, England, Marriages and Banns, 1813-1921
about Eli Pearson Name: Eli Pearson
Birth Year: abt 1830
Age: 21
Marriage or Bann Date: 21 Apr 1851
Parish: Bradford, St Peter (Bradford Cathedral)
Father's Name: Charles Pearson weaver
Spouse's Name: Nanny Pitts
Spouse's Father's Name: Thomas Pitts weaver

Batchelor + spinster
Witnesses William Holmes + Ephraim Smith.

Still doesn't help you to connect though?

Nanny WAS born in Idle !

Frances Report 7 Sep 2011 11:42

Thank you Dea,
I started wondering about the first marriage you found when I noticed they were both 31 in 1861!
I did find the same marriage in FreeBMD though

Marriages Jun 1851
Pearson Eli Bradford Y.
23 172

PITTS Nanny Bradford Yk
23 172

but, as you say, it has not found me a relationship to Elizabeth Ellis. If only I could find her too in Idle. Maybe Nanny Pitts mother was a neighbour of Elizabeth in Idle.....???

Another coincidence of names, Ephraim Smith was the witness to another marriage in 1859 in Bradford - perhaps he was the verger?

Dea

Dea Report 7 Sep 2011 12:36

Nanny had a sister, I think called Mary Ann? - anyway, both the witnesses on her marriage were the same as those on Nanny's.
