Find Ancestors

Hiya, I seem to have lost John Martin Samson who was born in Jul-Aug-Sep 1851 in Headcorn. Kent
(Registration district: Hillingbourn)

I have found him in 1861 at the age of 10 living with his parents and siblings
his parents are John Samson b1810 and Margaret Martha Martin b1815

1861 Cencus in New Romney, Kent (half of document missing on ancestry so cannot see occupations)

Then I find him in 1871 again with his parents and siblings but now they are all living in 28 North St, Colchester.

Then he disappears...
I have found the majority of his siblings for 1881 onwards but nothing for John.
I also couldn't find a possible death before 1881 that matched the details I have.

Can anyone help please?

oh thats inyeresting. I need to try a search again for deaths in colchester,

John's occupation in 1871 was as a Letter Press Printer so I don't think he was in the army service or anything like that.

In 1881 there is a Susannah Samson, widow, age 29, living with her parents,Aldis and Hannah Cullingford, at 8, St Johns St, Colchester St Mary At The Walls.

And from http://freebmd.rootsweb.com/cgi/search.pl there is a death registration for a 4-year-old John Arthur in 1880, Colchester district, and for a 27-year-old John Samson in 1878 Wandsworth district.

I cannot see an obvious death for him

thanks for all the help. It certainly seems very likely this is him.
A lot of his family were from Kent and were buried there. I do have a list of Samson graves in Kent and not managed to find a likely candidate but will look again now i have a potential wife name.

You're welcome. Having checked the indexed death registrations in find my past as well as from free BMD, that is the only possibility, if its records are correct.

Or, if he didn't marry Susannah - there is a death registration for a John age 55 Faversham district 1906.

nope I have that one already in my family tree for another John which is why I've been a bit baffles on this one's death.

I just couldn't find him. I have over 200 Samson's in my family tree as they all had approx 7 children which makes a huge family all in thee Kent area. Very few left Kent although a few left for Scotland and Canada.

I think I have found Susannah remarrying in 1888 to Arthur Rowe in London, so she may have a connection to London somehow hence a possible death for John Samson in London.
