Thank you both very much.This has been a great help, especially now Ihave a few more names to add. There were so many in Guernsey and the spelling keeps changing ! On mother-in-laws birth certificate it is definitely Duquemon but other 'hopefuls' are Duquemin or Duquemine. Quite confusing. I shall have a go at the Guernsey names again this evening and see if I can get a bit more sense out of it.

When and where did the marriages take place to give us some idea of location etc

I am unable to trace the birth or first marriage of georgina. I know she was born Duquemon, married a Frederick Purser then married William Alexander Carr. There was some talk within the family that she was french and I see that there are a lot of people in Guernsey with this surname. Any help appreciated, Maggie
