HI,

Could anyone please find the birth f this lady?

Her parents were Thomas McGowan and Selina Blockley.

I have her marriage cert stating that she was 18 in 1898 and the parents names.

A relative thinks she may have been born in the Isle of Man but her birthplace in the 1901 Scottish census says England.

I have her on my trees in Genes and Ancestry.

She married Alexander McCormick on 28 May 1898 in Govan Glasgow.

It looks like her mother was in the workhouse with her ( the mother's ) sister in the Leicester area. The mothers sister was also Lucy Amelia.. I haven't put a place for the birth of the younger Lucy.

If I now have this correct Lucy Amelia Blockley was born in 1880 to Selina who was unmarried and then in 1888 Selina married Thomas McGowan who may or may not have been her father?

In the census does it say that Thomas McGowan was born in Mountsorrel?

Yes that appears to be correct. You MIGHT find details of the father on Lucy's birth cert.

Where Thomas was born varies between the census reacord. 1891 says Montsorrel but 1871 posted by Vera says Isle of Man. The family evidently moved around a lot!

I have been looking for them in the 1901 and also deaths for Thomas and Selina with no luck. I have no access to the 1911.

They may have followed the daughter to Scotland when she got married there I guess.

Although It looks like Thomas and his family lived in the Isle of Man on the 1871 census.....but according to that census Thomas was born in England.
