Hi. I am struggling with a birth for this one as trying to find parents details:-

Here she is married in 1881 census.

On a couple of censuses it shows she is born in Colchester.

On her marriage certificate it seems to confirm born in 1851 or 1852 depending on when in the year her birthday was. It is a bit hard to read but looks like father = William and he is a Soldier. Her full name is Mary Ann Elizabeth Harrison (you would think this would make it easier, but seems surprisingly harder!)

Father is one witness. The other seems unrelated as different surname that I cannot connect (sorry not sure what it is as not got cert here, only working from what I wrote down to bring to work!)

and the only BMD Birth I can find.is Mary Ann Elizabeth Harrison..St.Giles London OND 1849.don't let the 1849 bother you.because you may have her baptism date which coul easily be 1851/2...............just an idea!!

The child I have for them is Albert Edward born 1882.

Not sure how they ended up marrying in London as he is from Aston Rowant, Oxfordshire.

After marriage they ended up in West Ham (I have grandchildren who were born in that area).

Yes, my James is the Plumber from Aston, Oxford. The Optician's Assistance is the wrong one. Makes sense to be Widower in 1911 as she died in 1905.

So did he marry Mary Ann South and not Mary Ann Harrison.

Okay so this has been driving me mad for months. I cannot track back on Mary Ann South and her parents for love nor money! Can anyone help?

To summarise, I am looking for birth now for Mary Ann South (not Harrison) who was born in either 1850 or 1851 in Colchester. She married James William Piddington on 28 November 1975 in St George Bloomsbury, London. Her father is named as James South a Stoker. Not sure where they lived at the time but the children were subsequently born in Camden and they ended up in Aston Rowant later in life. Mary Ann had died by 1911 as James was noted as a Widower in the census.

Anything else required, please ask.
