hello just a update since i asked for help i now have back to john whitfield 1663 wed to jane bell 1667 just to thank everyone that was of help lynn

just a quick thank you to everyone last night that took the time to help me lynn

well i did wonder just looking at maps again when you do not know the area you can not just place it on the1881cen it says widow elizabeth i am going to find her husband then i am going to phone my mother in law tell her the news thank you for all your time i only have the basic genes i will have to treat my self

I also think that Joseph and Margaret (Nee Whitfield) are his parents.
The only thing is that on 1911 census for Joseph and Margaret they have son Matthew 1880/1 with them and it states he was married for 4years.

Unless Joseph and Margaret thought they had to put all there children down wether they were in the house at the time or not!!

hello thank you well just put this in order lookes like mattew was born 1881 he wedss 1906 first child mathew 1906 marg 1907 thomas 1909 maurice 1913 george 1919 well thank to you all this all looks good now i will try to find out where matthew 1881 came from

which 2 children did she have before she married Matthew??

She married 1906 and those two mentioned were 1907 and 1909.

When you view original 1911 it deffinately says surname Whitfield for both children.

Its those flipping people who transcribe the census records.
Giving Margaret a bad name LOL.

well i will have to ask where houghton le spring is and if it was close to where they lived at the time it lookes like my father in law was a whitfield but 2 of his sibs are hendersons i wonder if they got there names changed later in life

hello my father in law was george 1918 so i know of his siblings i do not have any birth cert yet but my mother in law said these are his parents
