Member Since: May 2003 Posts: 1 Send Message	Theresa May Collier daughter of Robert & Jane Collier was born on 1st May 1870 and baptised on 31st July 1872 at Emmanuel Church, Compton Gifford, Devon I found this posting because I was stuck as to what happened to Theresa as I could find no death, marriage or trace of her on later census records.

Member Since: July 2008 Posts: 18,042 Send Message	I know PH found a death a while back, but there is this, too: England & Wales, Death Index: 1916-2005 Name: Theresa M Collier Birth Date: abt 1871 Date of Registration: Jan-Feb-Mar 1952 Age at Death: 81 Registration district: Plymouth Inferred County: Devon Volume: 7a Page: 736 Wonder if they never married and death was registered in both names? Can't find a Theresa Collier in any earlier census. Although she gave Collier as maiden name when birth registsred but perhaps that was actually a previous married name?

Member Since: May 2008 Posts: 176 Send Message	I have now got the birth cert of one of William and Theresea's children. Theresas maiden name was Collier. Still cant find a marriage though. On the birth cert the father is named as Harry Chappell but still with the same occupation.

	The birth may not have been registered as it was before 1875 when penalties were introduced for not registering a birth. Before this date many births were not registered. I think you will have to get one of the children's birth certificates for Theresa's full name. Kath. x

Address: 6 Skardon Court Plymouth Reference: RG14PN13000 RG78PN749 RD276 SD3 ED24 SN295 I can't find a marriage for them on Findmypast. Perhaps they never actually married. Kath. x
