I have just received the marriage cert for henry and mary details are henry gath aged 20 years overlocker in worsted mill residence at time 8 abbey street bradford father john gath laborer for butchers Mary Cantwell aged 19yrs worsted mill hand residence at time Loom Street bradford father James Cantwell masons labourer according to the baptism for henry his father was deceased. I cannot find any records for either john gath, mary cantwell or her father james that match the cert info. could both fathers have been deceased at the time of the marriage(wouldnt it have said so?) how do I move on from here, as I cannot even buy a cert without births and where born!! I am at a loss as what todo next, any ideas. I have found a marriage for a john garth to an alice hardy, which is the only bit that seems to fit :-( :-(
