glitterbaby probably has access to the London marriage records through ancestry, where you can see the image where the witnesses are recorded, who were Rose and James Mellett for Walter and Emily's marriage.

glitterbaby - in regards with 'This would explain the witnesses on the Walter Hall to Emily Hiom marriage' how do you see that information? You know ur stuff as most of you do...i started this search but had a baby so it had to go on hold...hence why ive just picked u p again btw :-)

wow guys i really wasnt expecting these replies...thank you im still trying to work it all out ...i have ordered his birth certificate and only have the mothers maiden name as Hiom and he was registered under Hall But given the names Sampson MAYNARD HALL....i know he has a sister and a brother ... as for their surnames i have no idea as i have searched for Rachel but under HALL i have found nothing....:-(

I suspect the name is, actually Hiorn but I'm going to check for more children and also the London marriages on Ancestry....might strike lucky!

He was my grandfather,DOB 2-jan-1917(but registered in 2nd 1/4) DOD 1-3-1983 he had a sister named Rachel that was younger than him and a brother named Archie who was older than him.
His mother maiden name was HIOM.
He was in Barnardos for a while not sure how old, why or how long or if the other siblings were either. I have one photo of him. He married my nan Edith Lillian Challis he was 22.
Im coming unstuck and really struggling with my research on both my parents side so any help would be appreciated greatly. Thank you in advance, hope i put this in the right section... :-) :-) :-)
