Find Ancestors

Hi, don't know if any connection but my mom was adopted and was called ada rushby, mom was born 1930, I know she had 1 other sister who was also adopted but I think there would have been other sibling before, Their mother was called Ethel Burgin born in sheffield 1891.

Surely that would be her adopted name Janette and not the name she was born with. The birth I mentioned above was registered in December 1944 so it could well be her. You will need to purchase the birth certificate to obtain her mother's details etc.

the daughter was June Smith born 4-12-1944 married Sidney webb 22-9-1965 christ church dartford.her middle name was valerie.

If you are descended from Janet/June you may be able to access the adoption records if they exist. There is a thread somewhere on the boards about adoption ...

There is a female Rushby birth in 1944 with Mother's maiden name as Rushby. You will need to purchase the certificate to verify the mother's name.

Without knowing much more it will be a problem.

She could simply have used Rushby as her name - when in fact that was the Canadian chap's name, or her mother's maiden name, or the name of her best friend ...

No obvious Janet Rushby records ping out when I've searched for her.

all i know is when june was adopted her mother was single her father was a lieutenant in the canadian air force but he never know about the birth for some reason.

I have a Ernest Samuel Smith born Dartford 1903 he married in 1929 to Emily Curbishley born Sheffield 1910.they adopted June she was born in Mottingham in 1944. her real mother was called Janet Rushby but i can not find a birth for Janet are were Janet was born. please help.
