Hi

Thanks for responding. The witnesses are not family. Im not sure if she was born in Cawthorne or not...not substantiated at all.

Also in 1851 census for Whitley Bridge area I have a john and Elizabeth Stead and birthplace is down as Gaughrine. I have googled this but nothing comes up

Another brick wall I think!!

both of full age and address given as Whitley

Do you know the names of any of her siblings, perhaps one was a witness to her marriage.

Do you have Elizabeths place of birth in any census after her marriage. It may help to narrow it down a bit.

Born circa 1835 in Yorkshire
Father John Stead
married William Jackson in 1864 at Kellington

Trying to find the family prior to marriage but struggling.

Can anyone help please?
