Well thanks for everyones help i have come to the opinion that their prob the same family and Robert John Parry being put as 5 is an error and he was prob just visting his parents when the census was taken.

Kind regards and thanks again everyone. :-D

Good :)

If you are interested in reading about the coal mines - http://www.museumwales.ac.uk/en/bigpit/
A fascinating place to visit if you can travel that far, or interesting to read about anyway.

Thanks Holly i norm just copy and paste but it comes out really long. I have no Idea when David past away i only found out about him a few weeks back when i got Robert Parry's Marriage Cert.

He makes his mark on the cert in 1899 so his still around then Maddie. It seems a lot died young in the coal mines my grandad William John Lewis died just aged 54 of miners lung. So maybe David went the same way.

Thanks joy i got it now. :-D

Don't know much about Welsh geography so not sure how significant this is, but the 5 year old Robert J in 1901 was born Ystradyfodwg Glamorganshire, whereas the 16 year old in 1891 was born Bagillt Flintshire

Well Robert John Parry marrys Mary Ann Griffiths in 1899 his address given on wedding cert is 129 Gelli Road and his dad David Parry is down as a Colliery Foreman.

Joy Report 14 Aug 2011 14:03

Was he married to Mary? and would they have been married 12 years in 1911?
If so, he may have been in Bargoed in 1911.

His wife Mary is 38 in 1891 and 42 in 1901 - at least that's what I made it when I looked at the original.

Is it possible that David married again - to another Mary - who would have been 6 years younger than his first wife and they had a son called Robert - so there are two Roberts in the family?

I know it seems a bit unlikely in many respects but I have come across two instances of a chap marrying a woman with the same forename - which is a devil to unpick!

Also, when my father was born his mother named him John. She did not know that his father already had 5 children, one of whom was also named John. So, it's possible ...
