Find Ancestors

I am trying to help a friend trace her ancestors, have been able to trace quite successfully the mother's side but father's side proving more difficult.

Struggling to find a birth for William Butcher c1856 (assuming age on death cert correct). On William's marriage cert his Father is recorded as Robert Butcher, occupation Baker.

Can't find William & Elizabeth on 1881 & 1891 census.

Any help would be appreciated.

This Robert appears too old to be the father of William Butcher and I can see a census with them together. I do think the William with brother Robert and father James is more likely and they mixed up the father's and brother's name on the marriage cert.

The William born in Tannington diappears post 1871.
