The Leopold Edward Ogden in the Ancestry tree is def. the one born above. Question is - is he the same person as Leopold Francis?

Maybe not. Adoption wasn't "official" until the 1920s. Maybe the Ogdens were family, friends or neighbours and young Leopold was taken in by the Francis family for some reason.

Perhaps young Leopold Ogden was adopted? If he was their only child and they had already been married for 6 years when he was born it sort of fits.

No problem, just glad you agree!
I can't see any births to this marriage on Freebmd. So I am just going to speculate that Leopold Ogden is a possible foster child? Are you able to look for him 1911 if only to exclude him?
Might be worth contacting the tree holder on Ancestry to see what else they might know.

Sorry Jan, missed your post about the age being wrong on the census.

I agree Kath - see above! Hence put Ogden birth as I can't see his birth entry anywhere. But can't make sense of that really!
Having said that, I can't see that Leopold Ogden in 1911? He was born 5th May according to an Ancestry tree, but unfortunately they have no parents for him, so not possible to exclude/consider on that basis.

Looking at the 1911 census image I think the age for Leopold has been mis-transcribed. I think it says he is 1 year and 11 months old.
