Yeh thanks Jan i had a look on free bmd it says Moss but it says Josephs' middle initial is E, so wasn't too sure if it was him. No it didn't give his fathers occupation or i couldn't read it i can't remember. I got the details from the records office.

I have the marriage cert. but it doesn't have his age on. It just says he lived in Alford Lincolnshire when he married my great aunt Edna Troughton in Millom Cumberland in 1946. He was a bachelor and a railway employee.

You really need his birth year. As you know his father's name, do you have the marriage cert?
