I'm a regular new register house goer andcan't find his birth record there anywhere. His marriage states that his parents are unknown. I'm awaiting his death transcript from Australia which may show his parents names. |

Wouldn't the military record be his son? |

Thamks Patchem I do have the information you sent but he doesn't use the name wemyss on the census and you will also see my confusion as sometimes the census states that he was born in Leven and the over kirkcaldy? |

Yes Ozbird, the military records are for his son William, I have been in contact with his grand daughter in Australia but there is little or no information on his father william. i did find out that William (the father) is buried in Rookwood cemetery but I can't find any details about his parents? |

Is there a connection here? |
|||
|
Denise | Report | 27 Aug 2011 23:17 |

Thanks OzBird, There could be a few connections. maybe because William was deaf and dumb, he was given the name of the place where he was born. Wemyss is the next district over to where I live |
